12/2/2025 1 Comment November 2025 - CLBDI celebrates the holidays, our next donation total, the website updates continue, your last chance to order merchandise, and more...Hello, Lewy Warriors, and welcome to December!
Another year is coming to a close and we've got another update on all things CLBDI for you. First and foremost, with the Christmas season right around the corner, we wanted to remind everyone that we are not hosting a Holiday Fundraiser this year. Instead, we urge you to donate directly to Dr. Pasternak's LBD research at the University of Western Ontario via our The LBD Research Fund & Donations page. There, we list all the different ways you can donate including mail, phone, and direct online donation. If you donate before the end of the year, you'll receive a tax receipt you can use come tax time next spring. You will also be helping us smash our donation goals and directly helping to fund Dr. Pasternak and his team's LBD research. We'll be receiving our new donation total update in the second half of January 2026 and we cannot wait to see if we surpassed the $120,000 donation milestone. We're very excited, hopeful, and optimistic that we'll make it there. If you want to help us reach new heights and fund LBD research right here in our own province, please consider making a donation this holiday season. Speaking of fundraising - we're almost out of our merchandise! Our inventory is running low and this might be the last chance for you to purchase CLBDI hats, shirts, and cards for a while. They make great Christmas gifts (especially the hats, which are super warm and high quality), and you can feel good about your purchase because half of all funds we raise will be donated to Dr. Pasternak's research team at the end of the year. So, if you'd like to support, please consider making an order today (especially if you'd like your merchandise to arrive for Christmas). You can browse our merchandise and place order on the Community page of our website or learn more by sending us an email or direct message on social media. As you may have noticed, we are still in the midst of updating and upgrading our website. We're almost done with the LBD Resources page and will be moving to the What Is LBD? and Community pages shortly. From there, we'll be updating other parts of the site over the next few months. As previously mentioned, this will culminate in us being able to offer CLBDI in both English and French. We're very excited to implement these changes and will continue to make them in a piecemeal format so that we don't need to take the site down for extended periods of time. In the meantime, if a page is down and you need to access its information, please send us a message or email and we can get it to you as soon as possible. Also, we've had a slight delay in our final episode of CLBDI Talks for the year but are still aiming to have an episode out by the end of December. We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has shared, watched, and sent us messages about the series. It's been amazing to see how these episodes have resonated, connected with, and helped people in our community. We're working on some amazing things for early 2026 including another art show, more episodes of CLBDI Talks, movie screenings, community events, and more. And, lastly, we wanted to wish everyone a wonderful, safe, and peaceful holiday season to you and yours. As we come to the end of the year, we often reflect on how grateful we are for everyone in this community. From our Advisory Board to the people and organizations we've connected with to the people in our community. Considering how challenging and full of change this (and last) year has been for many on the CLBDI team, it sure warms my heart to see the support we've received. I'll save the full retrospective for the final blog post of the year. We wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Best, Joe

Without my ersthwhile CLBD partner this work could not have begun and gone forward these last 5+ years. I wanted to add my deepest sincerest thanks and gratitude to everyone who has supported us. We could not have done this work without you. I know my late husband Bob would have been so proud of this work. We do this to honour him as well as to help others who are dealing with the devastating effects of an LBD diagnosis. You are each and everyone a Lewy Warrior. Bless you and Thanks so very much.
