Hello, Lewy Warriors!

Another month down, another monthly update to the CLBDI Blog! We hope everyone had a wonderful June and that your summer is off to a fantastic start. Let’s recap everything we’ve been up to and talk a bit about the coming months.

Firstly, we launched another series this month! "CLBDI’s Care Partner Tips” is an ongoing series of tips, advice, and anecdotes from caregivers, care partners, and more that offers some insights that you can use to make your life easier. The first, which came from our founder Carol, focused on the power of journaling. The second, which I (Joe) wrote, focused on the importance of finding time to do what you love. You can read both of these on our Facebook page and our Instagram account. Keep an eye out for another instalment of the “CLBDI Reviews” and the "CLBDI's Care Partner Tips” series coming your way in the near future.

Secondly, we continued to grow our network and connect with other Lewy Warriors from across the globe in June. Most notably, we connected with Pamela Towers, who has written an amazing children’s book on Lewy Body Dementia. We can’t wait to connect and collaborate with her further. Her book, "Mia and Grandad: A Story About the Many Doors of Lewy Body Dementia”, aims to make the conversations around LBD easier and more accessible for children, and has been supported by sites like The Lewy Body Society and Dementia UK.

We are also excited to announce that we will be adding two new members to our Advisory Board in the coming days. We want to take a minute to unofficially welcome Brian Bentley and Savio Wong to CLBDI. They will be joining our next board meeting and officially added to our website in coming days. We’re so excited to have them on the board and can’t wait to see what fresh ideas, support, and skills they bring to the team.

Coming up in July, we will be locking in more details regarding our Loonie Loops event and beginning to roll out information on our upcoming art show. Although we are keeping things relatively under wraps, I can share that the art show will first and foremost be a digital show that will run in the early fall. We are still accepting collaborators and artists who want to join in the fun and do some good.
