2/1/2026 1 Comment January 2026 - World Lewy Body Dementia Day, our Holiday Giveaway winner, the new donation total, January updates, and more...Hello, Lewy Warriors! We're already one month into 2026! Can you believe it?! We've been a little sidelined due to the weather and weather-related challenges this month but we do have some updates for you. We hope that everyone had a wonderful New Year celebration and that you've stayed out of the seemingly endless cold and snow that this month has brought us. First and foremost, before we get into updates, we wanted to thank everyone who took part in our Holiday Giveaway this year! Our winner, Kelley, looks great in her new CLBDI winter hat. Congratulations, Kelley! If you'd like your own CLBDI winter hat, head over to the Community page to place an order. We're running low on hats, so act fast if you'd like to get one. Best of all? Half of all sales goes to Dr. Pasternak's LBD research at the University of Western Ontario. Furthermore, we wanted to remind everyone that this month marked another celebration of World Lewy Body Dementia Day, an initiative started by the wonderful people at Lewy Body International (https://lewybodyint.org/) to raise awareness about Lewy Body Dementia and advocate for Lewy Warriors all around the world. Although it has already come and gone, you can still help by sharing posts on social media, speaking to your friends and family, and donating to LBD research (and other LBD-related organizations). Speaking of donations, we've received our new donation total for 2025 and we're thrilled to announce that together we've raised $124,833.05 for Dr. Pasternak and his team's research. We are so proud and grateful to everyone in our community for helping us reach this new milestone. We are constantly humbled by anyone who has donated money, time, or support to our little endeavour. It makes us emotional to see how much we've been able to do together. Year after year, we continue to exceed our expectations, and that is all thanks to our wonderful community. We also wanted to thank our advisory board for their stalwart support and everyone else out there advocating, raising awareness, and educating about LBD. As our founder, Carol, always says... Merci mille fois! As for us? Well, we've been slowly making updates and upgrades to the site (both in the front and back end) and are beginning to organize for the new year! You can expect a new episode of "CLBDI Talks" in the coming weeks, along with some updates on our next art show, and other community events we've been quietly planning. We were slowed by a few leaks and challenges brought on by the harsh winter weather, but we continue forward and hope to be back on track in the coming week or two.
That's all from us today! Make sure you're following us on Facebook and Instagram for more regularly posted updates on our plans, events, and LBD-related content and links. We hope you all have a wonderful February. Best, Joe
