October 2025 - Website updates begin, a new addition to the Advisory Board, CLBDI in French, and more...

Picture
Hello, Lewy Warriors!

October has come and gone in the blink of an eye and we're entering the final stretch of the year. This will be a shorter blog update, but a substantial one nonetheless, and we have a few exciting things to share.

Firstly, we hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and a safe, fun, and Happy Halloween. Our October was spent preparing with our Advisory Board for the many changes and updates that we have planned for this coming month. Before we get into what we've got planned, we wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to all the members of our Advisory Board for their support, suggestions, and guidance. We couldn't do it without you.

We also wanted to welcome our newest member, Hailey Schmidt, to the board. She has not yet been added to the website but her information will be available in the coming days. We're thrilled to have her as a part of CLBDI and thank her for being a part of this journey. We also wanted to formally mention the departure of Brian Rainville from the Advisory Board. We wanted to take a moment to, once again, thank him for all he's done for CLBDI and wish him the best. Thanks, Brian.

Now, on to the updates to our site! Over the next two weeks, you may notice that some parts of the site and the LBD Resources page are unavailable as I reformat certain parts of the site to make them easier to navigate, more intuitive, and better organized. We've decided to approach the updates to the website in a phased format so as to minimize the disruption and maintain operational status of the overall site. The first phase, which will begin this coming weeks, will be focused on improving and streamlining the LBD Resources page. Following this, we will be working on the home page and the What Is LBD? page, improving clarity and adding up-to-date information. Then there will be a general check up done across the full site before we enter the final phase of updates... offering CLBDI in French! That's right, we'll finally be offering a french language version of the site in early 2026.

All of this is to say that you may notice parts of the site being down for intermittent periods over the next 4 months as we implement these updates. During this time, our Facebook will continue to operate as normal, our inbox remains open, and any interruptions will be short-lived. By approaching these changes with a multi-phase piecemeal strategy, we hope to minimize the downtime and keep our site (mostly) open to all who need it.

Later in the month, we will begin rolling out our Holiday Fundraising Campaign, working on the final episode of "CLBDI Talks" of 2025, and continuing to build our network of LBD resources. We also are working on a potential walk event in another part of the province, multiple CLBDI events for early next year, some private speaking and community events, and more. We will keep you updated as more information becomes available. You can stay up-to-date on our daily announcements and updated on our Facebook.

Lastly, we do have a small number of CLBDI winter hats available for purchase for $20. Half of all sales will be donated to Dr. Pasternak's LBD research at the end of the year. To learn more about our hats and place an order, head over to the Community page of our website.

Ok, that's all from us. See you in a month.

All the best,
Joe
